Kenyon Welcomes Class of 2005 Summer Associates

Press Release

New York, NY - June 7, 2005 - Kenyon & Kenyon is pleased to announce the arrival of the 23- members of its 2005 Summer Associates Program, continuing its commitment to attracting law students of great talent from diverse backgrounds from the top law schools in the country.

Kenyon’s New York, Washington, D.C. and Silicon Valley offices participate in the program, which aims to provide each summer associate with an experience that fairly represents life as a first year attorney. Summer associate Ryan Yates said, “My decision to come on board with Kenyon & Kenyon, as opposed to any other firm, was for the opportunity to receive true litigation experience.”

Each summer associate is placed on a team involved in ongoing litigation, and undertakes a variety of projects for that team. Within the limits of their time with Kenyon, the summer associates are involved in learning about a client and its needs and in selecting the strategy best suited to getting the job done. They therefore become familiar with individual cases and experience the dynamics of litigation process. They are also introduced to other facets of the firm’s practice, such as patent prosecution, opinion work, trademark and copyright, licensing, and pro bono work.

Kenyon & Kenyon attorneys present a series of seminars during the summer to familiarize the summer associates with intellectual property issues, and the firm’s Practice Groups host lunches to introduce the breadth of the practice in each area, and cases presently in progress or recently completed. On the culture of the firm, summer associate Hany Rizkalla said, “At my interview here, every Partner I spoke to was open, down to earth, and took the time to answer my questions.  It was very refreshing.”

Kenyon and Kenyon’s Summer Associates program also includes a variety of social functions intended to introduce the associates to the firm’s lawyers and staff, and to acquaint them with the various charms and variety of possibilities of each of our locations.
