Richard Ward joined Kenyon & Kenyon as an associate in April of 2006 after working as a summer associate in 2005. Mr. Ward formerly served at the United States Patent & Trademark Office as a Patent Attorney for the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences (BPAI) and as a Patent Examiner. As a Patent Examiner, Mr. Ward examined patent applications in numerous technical areas, including membrane filtration, chromatography, ion exchange, materials, water treatment, biological separations, agitation, and centrifugal separators.
Mr. Ward’s current practice primarily involves litigation, patent prosecution, and counseling in a variety of subject areas, including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, mechanical devices, automotive technology, telecommunications, and the internet. Mr. Ward also specializes in complex USPTO matters, including inter partes reexamination, BPAI appeal brief preparation, and petitions.
