Stuart Sinder has been practicing intellectual property law at the firm for over forty years. His practice spans the entire scope of intellectual property matters, including extensive Federal Court litigation, obtaining, maintaining, defending and enforcing patents, trademarks and copyrights both in the United States and in foreign countries, counseling clients in all aspects of intellectual property, drafting and negotiating licensing agreements, and handling the acquisition and sale of intellectual property rights.
Mr. Sinder represents clients in a wide range of business fields, from telecommunications companies and software companies to universities, publishers, toy companies, and nutritional supplement companies. He counsels clients regarding obtaining intellectual property protection for their new products and services and enforcing those rights through licensing, and if necessary, litigation. He has been lead counsel in dozens of Federal Court litigations throughout the United States concerning such diverse matters as Internet communication and infrastructure equipment, international text messaging, automotive acceleration sensors, computer software protection, false advertising, entertainment media licenses, and a variety of patent, trademark and copyright infringement disputes involving numerous technological or entertainment areas. His litigation experience encompasses both extensive patent infringement matters and numerous trademark, copyright and trade secret infringement matters.
In addition to litigation, Mr. Sinder administers worldwide patent and trademark protection programs for major clients, and he advises clients on intellectual property portfolios involved in licensing, acquisition, financing and securities offering situations. Mr. Sinder is particularly active in representing clients in the telecommunications field, and specifically wireless telephony and packet switched networking.
Mr. Sinder has served as a member of Kenyon & Kenyon’s Executive Committee, Management Committee, Compensation Committee, and head of its Associates Committee, and he is active in the internal training and practice development activities of partners and associates of the firm.
Mr. Sinder is highly regarded by his peers and has received an AV rating from Martindale Hubbell, its highest rating. He has also received recognition in Who’s Who Legal – The International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers, in the Patents category in 2009 and prior years.
Mr. Sinder is a Contributing Editor to Getting the Deal Through: Patents in 36 Jurisdictions Worldwide - 2011, as well as the 2004 through 2010 editions, for which he has authored the introductory Global Overview chapter, and co-authored the
United States chapter each year. He is also a contributing editor to Getting the Deal Through: Trademarks since 2005 and Getting the Deal Through Copyrights since 2006.
