Jennifer E. Nicholls is an associate at the firm. She handles intellectual property matters on behalf of firm clients.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Nicholls was a legal intern at the Prosecutorial District Attorney’s Office in District 3B, North Carolina, where she prepared court documents, met with victims, researched legal issues, and aided assistant district attorneys. She also served as a trace evidence intern at the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation.
Ms. Nicholls has an educational background in materials science and chemistry. During her undergraduate studies, she was an environmental and molecular toxicology lab intern at The Center for Marine Sciences and Technology, North Carolina State University, where she worked on a project involving the testing of soil samples for the presence of tributyltin. Her honors research thesis, completed before graduation, was titled “Cocaine Detection on U.S. and Foreign Currency Using the GC-MS.” Ms. Nicholls earned her B.S. summa cum laude, in Chemistry from Appalachian State University where she was a Chancellor Scholar and the recipient of an academic scholarship from the American Business Women Association. She earned her J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law where she was a staff member and Notes Editor of the North Carolina Journal of Law and Technology, and a recipient of the Gressman-Pollitt Award for the best overall oral argument.
