Karen I. Leyva is an associate at Kenyon. She handles intellectual property disputes and transactions on behalf of firm clients.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Leyva was a legal intern at Coface North America Insurance Company where she worked in the legal department with the General Counsel and Senior Counsel and drafted and reviewed non disclosure agreements, conducted legal research and wrote memoranda regarding the insurance industry nationally and internationally. She also supervised legal analysis conducted in various Latin American and Middle Eastern countries to be used for strategic business decisions.
Ms. Leyva has career experience and an educational background in computer engineering and networked information systems. As a consultant at Accenture, LLC, she implemented ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems, especially SAP, used mainly by Fortune 500 companies in the pharmaceutical industry in the US and Europe.
Ms. Leyva earned her B.E. in Computer Engineering, Graduate Certificates in Secure Networked Systems and Project Management, as well as her M.E. in Networked Information Systems from the Stevens Institute of Technology. She attended and earned her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, where she was a board member of the Latin American Law Student Association.
